The end is here

Tomorrow's the big day. Ana and Tomas are going to present our project to everyone. They've already made a simulation of the presentation and it went great, so I'm confident they'll make it even better tomorrow. After all this time of work and joy, we have the final task of demonstrating what we did. It's hard to know this is the last assignment we have as a team, but, as everything in life, the Lapassion course has an end. Friedrich Nietzsche wasn't much of a team player, he lived inside his mind. One of the main ideas that's developed throughout his philosophy is the Eternal Recurrence. Which is best summarised in The Gay Science ( 1882 ):

What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: 'This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more; and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and sigh and everything unutterably small or great in your life will have to return to you, all in the same succession and sequence' ... Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus? Or have you once experienced a tremendous moment when you would have answered him: 'You are a god and never have I heard anything more divine.'

It's a brilliant way of adding perspective to what we do. So, what if this demon was to tell me "Everything you did for the last 3 months will be repeated" . Well, I'd say: "Cool, thanks"
